I will have to admit... I am indeed a retired trainer, and when I first saw this... I pretty much took this the long way. However, I wanted to be proper and make a proper thread for these two games. This thread is like it claims, a discussion. All theories, discussion, and information about these games should go here to keep the forum organized. When I first saw this.... I was honestly very disappointed on how uncreative the names were; however, I then began to realize that this is most likely the same as Pokemon Grey... But in 2 versions. As of right now, I have multiple feelings about these two new games: - Half of me doesn't like the new approach of the third installment (perhaps I'm too old fashioned).
- Half of me wants to know the mystery behind what this game is about and/or how the story is.
- Then there's the general me that pretty much retired from Pokemon (yea, I said and admitted it) so this didn't really appeal to me.
Those are my thoughts.

Nintendo Meeting: "We didn't sell as much in 2011 as we planned" "Well the guys down at Gamefreak are planning to release a Pokemon game this summer." "Wait what if we made two out of the one?"

I'm disappointed at the new Kyurem designs, they look rather bad. However, I'm excited for the games themselves. I'm happy to see something experemental in the main series of games: Instead of a slightly improved version, what appears to be a full out sequal. Also, Nintendo's 3DS is doing great on sales now, and the games are being enjoyed greatly. Having two sequals instead of the one isn't just a ploy to make money as it has been suggested before. Infact, between WiFi battles and a general popularity increase, Pokemon as a whole is higher in popularity now than it has been in the past few years.
I'm just frustrated by the amount of people who are frustrated by a game that may not actually be a slightly improved version of the other two.
The original concept of the third game was to tide over fan's interest until the next game set came out. It wasn't for money, it was a strategic ploy to secure the market on the Pokemon franchise. After Ruby and Sapphire, the developers released the remakes of Red and Blue (FireRed and LeafGreen) for a few reasons: It allowed all the Pokedex to be fully completed on all of these games, and to hold the market down further while they developed the later games.
Pokemon isn't being greedy so much, I think they've finally gotten ahead of where they wanted to be, and don't need to tide over the market for these next games. They don't need to release a third version, because the next set is ready to rock and roll.
Hmm.. and the Kyurem forms are already starting to grow on me.

1) Really excited we're getting a whole new adventure and not just BW 1.5 2) At first I hated the new Kyurem forms, then I realized I was being picky and stupid. People have been complaining that pokemon needs to make bigger changes. The idea of fusion could be just that. Wether or not it goes further than just Kyurem (in Gen VI and beyond) we'll have to wait and see, but at least it's something new. 3) It's on DS, so I don't have to buy a 3ds. I'm assuming that's because it has a bigger installed base. We probably won't see a 3d pokemon game until next gen. At least they're moving in that direction with the new pokedex and pokemon snap apps. 4) It can't be nearly as unpolished or glitchy as TCGO was.
