Is it offical that they can replace the champion? At least give the gym leaders that.

No because then your gym would be empty and we'd have to do another tournament. It's the same thing for the E4s.

Having another open gym just slows the league down since then People can't get 8 badges again.

It really doesn't have to be another open gym. You will just have two teams, a champion team and a type team for the gym.

Hogging both spots may seem kind of unfair to the other trainers then.

I don't see how hogging spots seem unfair since you have to do the samething as everyone else. Get badges, face elite four in order then face champion. I see that as a determination to get stronger and beat the new champion. Plus wasn't there a waiting time if you lose to the champion. With that plus you have to start the whole elite four over again seems like enough time for other trainers to take the champion spot.

Problem with that is that Gym Leaders only need 7 badges, so they already get a headstart. And having the spot of a Gym Leader is already deemed high to the average trainer on the forum so having both spots may be seen as unfair to them. It may not be unfair to you, but to others it is.
If you really want to be Champion, you could drop your role as a Gym leader and challenge the E4 like an average Trainer.

Before you know it someone stronger is going to come by and defeat him. So, I don't see why not. Not to mention Miles, you have to be defeated eventually, face it.

Yes, but I want it to be someone who doesn't already have a role. I don't want to go through another problem with finding another Gym Leader.

So your saying they'll have both the Gym Leader role and the Champion role? I'm going back to my original point to that being unfair others since a person has two different titles.

thats fine.......................gym leader is a permanent role......champion is a changing role........if a champion stayed as champ for long periods of time then it would be different(you are gonna be there awhile because we dont have many members with enough badges)once we get things moving there could be a new champ once a week or more........it wont take as long as it will with you...............besides the gym leaders will then just sit idle and not do anything for long periods of time and wait for challengers.they wont try to better their other teams......(unless their really in to that)

I don't see a problem with gym leaders also holding the champion spot, at least for the moment. Right now we have all of...four active, non-leader members. If we get bigger and get more challengers then I can understand restricting gym leaders from holding two positions, but right now, I don't see a problem with it.
Also, refusing the gym leaders the right to challenge might cause them to quit their position so they can take a shot at being champion. If that happens it's pretty much defeating the whole purpose of not allowing them to challenge.
EDIT: Also, allowing the gym leaders to to have their own badge for free makes perfect sense to me. It's not that much of an advantage as they still have to beat seven other gyms a the E4. They're leaders, they should get a little bit of an advantage...
