Dragon is the best type in the game. Period. Only one thing resist it and nearly all of it's members are good (except altaria). Also, Dragonite=Win.

In terms of actual gameplay, my water type team has decimated like three dragon type trainers without breaking a sweat.
Hell, my Swampert, who is a dedicated stealth rocker, takes down like 90% of dragon teams by himself.

I would have to say Dragons for this one. I never liked Ice types much.
