One very special announcment

Hello everyone, I realize I haven't been on in a long time; and I apologize. I have a lot to talk about today. I will start with what the title is referencing to;


I would like to take the time out to fill out this statement...

I have been observing one after I returned. I realize how much this person has contributed, done so much for the server, and is well organized and is intelligent. I am proud to say that.....

NinjaDeathStrike, I would like you to become my co-admin.

I trust you enough to moderate here when I am not around, you do a great job here, you have great ideas to contribute to here, and you always find a way to interest members with something new; and because of that, along with the absence of Austin, I would like you to be my co-admin, congratulations. However, he is not the only person... And no this does not mean there are any more promotions or new staff at this time.

I would like to thank you all, for helping this site becoming so successful. I was starting to get worried that since I was so busy with other business, that everybody would get concerned about my absence, but no. It still remains the same as a whole, a group, a family; and I am proud of this. In fact, it's almost like it grows every day. I am sure that Austin would be just as proud, if he was here right now.


With this aside. Due to the new changes in the league; new gym leaders, Elite 4 member switch, new champion (finally). I will have to update badges and welcome table shortcuts accordingly. As well as switch the roles of Ninja and Miles. I will also make minor changes to important threads such as the rules (for minor errors) if necessary.


Now about my story;

I have been away for a long time because I was not only hooked on a game for an amount of time (yea, shame on me). But I also have a lot coming up this week, such as end of the semester finals. On top of this, I have been wondering about my future, my video game development/programming dream, my dream to make stories / Anime / Manga. I have been experimenting with what people like in Video Games and Anime, I have thought about other opinions including my own. I am doing careful research to make sure my future developments will be successful. Yes, this means you, every single one of you, may tell me your opinions. However, my survey is not done yet, but you could tell me now....

1: "What do you like in Video Games? What do you not like in Video Games? What is your favorite part about Video Games? Is there something you look for when playing a video game that you enjoy, what is that? What is your opinion on classic/modern video games, which one do you like more and why?"

2: "What do you like in Anime/Manga? What do you not like in Anime/Manga? What is your favorite part about Anime/Manga? Is there something you look for when watching/reading a Anime/Manga that you enjoy, what is that? What is your opinion on Anime/Manga, which one do you like most and why?"

Firstly, Thank you Neutral. I'm honored to be promoted to the position of Admin. I'll do my best to make PLO run smoothly day to day.

Concerning the second part of your post, here are some things that I enjoy in video games (I'll avoid Manga, since I don't really read it).

Player customization: Let the player have some ability to manipulate their character or environment. Let players differentiate their characters from others (something as simple as being able to nick name pokemon for example).

Replay Value: Give me something to do after I beat the game once or a reason to play through it again.

Gameplay: This seems basic, but a lot of games get so hung up on being innovative that they forget to be fun. Make sure the basics are interesting enough to hold my attention before you start adding bells and whistles.

There are the three big ones that are most important to me, although there are tons of other things that make a game successful as well.

(Side note: I'm also planing on working on video games in my future, who knows maybe we will both meet someday?)

Video Games

Exploration
I love it in video games where you not only get a chance to kill the bad guy and save the day you also get to explore and get attached to this world. By this I mean like a big overworld, similair to how everyone Zelda and Pokemon game have.

After Game
I also love video games that have an after story. Pokemon does this (but not very well IMO). There should be more stuff to do after the main plot is finished such as side quests, or characters having unique goals they want to meet becasue they have already saved the world.

i agree so far with ninja and james.
but in more modern games.....
i really dont like in halo where there is all that aiming....i cant control it well and end up getting shot at before i can get them in the crosshairs.......

also i really like rts games......
one of my favorite computer games was stronghold so...
rpgs are good when you have to do full strategy....(pokemon)
not so much for shooter rpgs....and you are just roaming around an area trying to find someone....

Well here are my opinions

Video Games
Story: very necesarry, make you feel like the player is you, like in FF10 where Tidus knew as much as you did when he got to Spira. As for the Afterstory, prehaps like what James said quests and that kind of stuff, and challenges

Gameplay
Make the Controlls easy, like in COD, FF. not SS, those are complicated and frustrate me and make me not want to play. i say a challenging-not so challenging game

Manga
Make up something very interesting, an example of creativity is Death Note, something stange but makes sense like that. also, this may seem obvious but, make something you would read over, and over again

Anime
I always liked the ones that aren't ridiculous, something like Bleach and Full Metal Alchemist aren't so ridiculous unlike One Piece, make something that people can relate to and make the main character(s) have depth and maybe have something bad happen to them in the begining
