I was wondering if everyone on PLO and the wider community could spare a minutes silence during sometime of the day to remember those who have lost their lives, their families, their homes and their communities during the 2011 Queensland Flood Disaster.
During the Past week floods have been wreaking havoc in Queensland, Australia. Many people have lost everything in the floods.
Just last night a wall of water over 10 meters (33 feet) hit a few cities in South-eastern Queensland (QLD).
Tonight the state of Queensland's capital city of Brisbane is being severely flooded. Tomorrow over 100,000 homes will have their power cut in Brisbane. The Central Business District of Brisbane will be closed, impacting on local and international trading.
I know some of the people on PLO live far away from Australia but if you could spare a moment then maybe the sun will come and shine on the despair that these people currently see.
We may all come from far and wide, or speak in different tongues, but our hearts beat as one.
I'm fortunate to live in an area of Queensland that was least affected by the flooding. I'm spending some of my time now helping those who were hit by the floods. Some of my dear friends were impacted and I'm currently getting supplies for them to help restore what they had.
So please spare a moment of your time to think for those who have it tough at the moment.
