Dragon/Water = amazing typing. Pared with Kyorge, Palkia is win, even though I like Giratina better.

I am a sucker for both Dragons and Ghost types. Giratina is a beast, and immune to Normal and Fighting type moves. Very strong both offensively and defensively. Giratina is the best hands down.

dialga has better stats and though more weaknesses it has better movepool(roar of time=150, spacial rend=100)
also it resists more over all and has an imunity
also palkias compatability with kyogre is lost on me who hates to repete types on a team(i can deal with dragon on an uber team but others.....)

about roar of time yea its more but u have to recharge afterwards
so roar of time 150+0 the next turn
spacial rend 100+100 the next turn

^this. Being stuck the turn after is asking for something to come in, set-up, and sweep you.
Also, while the resistances (and neutrality to dragon) are definitely nice, ground and fighting are EVERYWHERE. Maybe fighting not as much in Ubers but Earthquake is one of the most widespread moves in the game. That 90 speed isn't helping him too much either.

Plus, doesn't Palkia have a higher Sp. Atk stat than Dialga?

nope same plus better defences(or atk stat if your going for gimick......)
and i meant if you need a power move rot is better for a one shot....
its sorta like explosion on foretress etc.
use it when ur weak
also its hp is good
and lower speed plus gyro ball or whichever move it is that goes up with lower speed.......yeah

gyro ball only works well on really slow pokes. 90 base speed is just mediocre and keeping RoT just for a final blow seems like a waste of a move slot, since you'd still want another dragon attack to use during the rest of the battle.
It is better at taking hits, but I still think Palkia is far more useful overall.
