Anyhow the idea is that Pokemon exist in our world and have existed since ancient times.
This is written UTTERLY terribly, because it's just a backstory I wrote in ten (I was counting) minutes. If you guys like the idea, I'm going to continue the story. I'll most likely post it on fanfiction.net or something.
Anyhow, here is my stupid backstory.
In ancient times, Pokemon were used as weapons of mass destruction. Many treated Pokemon as nothing but simple weapons. For thousands of years, war continued. People and Pokemon fought together, killing and killing for more power.
Luckily, in 1492, a prophet named Arceus stopped the fighting. He stepped between the marching soldiers and ordered them to stop. The soldiers ignored Arceus at first, but Arceus then put his hand up to the sky and showed them images of the wars of the past. Arceus made them realize that humanity has been fighting for thousands of years, but nothing has changed. Finally the constant war ended.
Peace had come.
Once everyone realized that were fighting for nothing, people began to settle down.
Many still enjoyed recreational battles with their Pokemon.
Sadly though, because Pokemon were so powerful, they constantly destroyed and killed, although usually by accident.
In 1508, Leonardo Da Vinci came upon a rather simple, yet useful, idea.
Why not breed the Pokemon with animals to make them weaker?
He proposed this idea to the government.
They originally shoved off the idea, but by 1514, they took up the Breeding Project.
Sadly, Leonardo had died by the time the project started.
The result of this project were the 493 Pokemon species we have today.
Well, the non-legendaries of course.
Legendary Pokemon were unaffected by the Breeding Project, usually because they couldn't be found.
Most legendary Pokemon are gods.
Most people are Pokemonists in the first place.
People could finally battle recreationally in peace.
Now, the year is 2010.
Red Ketchum is finally 16 years old.
Now, living in the peaceful town of Tukwila, Washington, he has finally received his Pokemon license from Professor Oak, the local authority.
Red drops out of school to become a Pokemon Trainer.
His goal is now to become the Pokemon World Champion.
Can he do it?
