February 8, 1891: Tragedy strikes Celadon City today as the city's sacred tree, which has stood for over 100 years, was burned to the ground in an act of arson. A group known as Oni, who were also responsible for an attempt to blow up the communication tower in Saffron City, were the ones who carried out the attack. Police and locals tried to combat the gang, but were unable to stop them until the tree had already been engulfed in flames. The gang leader was taken into custody, as were several other conspirators.
The gang leader had this to say, "This is Kanto's punishment for forgetting it's roots and selling it's soul. Today Celadon burns. Tomorrow, all of Japan."
Officer Jenny has urged restraint and ensured the public that the Kanto Defense Force is hard at work searching for and putting a stop to other Oni schemes.
A new sapling will be planted where the city tree once stood.

February 11, 1891:
Terrorist rock Kanto again, this time in Fuchsia Harbor. The cruise ship White Lady was destroyed by an Oni hijacking team late last night. The ship sank after a failed rescue attempt by the KDF. Reports of the attempt are sketchy, but rumor has it that the job was somehow botched from the inside. Witnesses say they saw the ship shake violently before and explosion ripped through the hull, killing Oni and hostages alike. Only three people manged to walk away from the disaster a girl named Sally, and two KDF officers called Zero and Jans. Causalities included two other KDF officers Faye and Ninja as well as the captain on the ship. A very tired Officer Jenny declined to comment on the incident.

February 22, 1891: Kanto is in turmoil as fire torches Viridain and the rash of disappearances continues. The city of Viridian faced it's worst disaster in recorded history on Monday as it was attacked by several vicious dragons from Mt. Silver. The attack began early in the morning when a lone Charizard descended on the city. It was soon joined by several other dragons. The beasts put much of the city to flame, including the gym. It was here that leader Wendy White died while valiantly trying to protect those in the gym. Attempts were made to resuscitate her, but they were unsuccessful. The dragons were eventually driven away, but not before large portions of the city had been destroyed.
In other news, odd disappearances continue throughout the region. Actress and singer Shiori Maruno was reported missing on Sunday. Like Pewter City Gym Leader Rochelle Day, police have no clues and no leads. Maruno was last seen backstage preparing for a show, but never made it to the stage. A young man she was reported being seen with, known only as Jans, has also gone missing. Gang activity is becoming less likely due to the randomness of the targets and the lack of ransom demands.

March 1, 1891:
Mixed emotions tonight as the KDF succeeded in stopping an Oni plot to steal and sell several powerful weapons to Russian buyers, but failed to take one of their top leads in alive. A group of skilled and organized Oni broke into the Cinnabar Research Lab early this morning and made off with several prototype weapons which they intended to sell to foreign governments. The men were lead by Valian, and high level Oni operative. They succeeded in disabling the KDF boats in the area before making good their escape by sea. However several young KDF agents were able to pursue and overtake them. A bloody battle raged across the decks of the ship as the guns were brought to bare on the KDF members. Several Oni were killed in the encounter with more were wounded. The KDF made their way to the interior of the boat where they battled Valian. During the fight, Valian was killed along with all hopes the KDF had of locating the Oni gang boss known only as 'The Ogre.' Jenny declined to comment on the incident.

March 7, 1891:
Celadon City authorities were shocked this morning to discover and underground warehouse that appeared to be a base of operations to the notorious Oni gang. The compound was found by a young girl as she walked to school in the morning. The girl noticed a trail of blood leading into an abandoned warehouse and reported it to the police. When the KDF arrived on the scene they found a huge underground complex lurking beneath the warehouse. There they discovered the bodies of several Oni members. Among the dead was the body of Akio Masumara. Akio is the son of disgraced samurai Noboru Masumara and was once a prominent activist. Akio protested the government's decision to disband the ancient samurai order as well as it's openness to foreign trade and reliance on foreign technology to modernize the military. Officer Jenny refused to confirm Masumara as the leader of Oni, though she did say, "It's a definite possibility." There are no leads as to the identity of the party or parties responsible for the violent vigilante justice.

March 14, 1891:
The body of Fuchsia City gym leader Kyio Kasume was discovered on the road to Saffron City early this morning. Kiyo, 24, was found along side the owner of the Fuchsia Ctiy gym and the body of an unidentified man. All three bodies had deep cuts and gouges and the unidentified man was found with a self inflicted sword wound. Police suspect that the man attacked the carriage, killed both Kiyo and the gym owner, and then took his own life. They are not currently investigating any other suspects.
