Journal Entry #14: A Day Like Any Other 28 May 1891 I woke up in Brightray today still feeling upbeat. We went and met up with the others and stopped by the TM shop. I think I'm all done TM shopping for a while. Inside we met with a new guy, Indago. I introduced myself, but I don't think he took much notice. After that, we went to the Dustrider gym again where Zero won with his newly obtained Articuno. I still don't feel that catching a legendary pokemon is right...Oh well. Nothing I can do about it.
We went into the saloon looking for work. Things seemed pretty intense inside of the bar. Indago didn't really help with his brand of kindness. It only made things worse. Someone punched me in my stomach and a bar fight ensued. We ended it sort of quickly, and Sean helped me out. I was taking a little bit of a beating.
After that we went to Fortuna where we heard about some trapped miners. We headed off in the direction of the mines and found a group of miners out front. Some of our group needed to stay out here and some needed to go in and rescue the miners. I volunteered to go rescue the miners and Sean and Mike ended up coming with me. We ran across some enraged pokemon and one used Earthquake! It caused part of the mine to collapse. Sean took the worst of it. We found the miners and helped them to the surface, protecting them from wild pokemon attacks. We made it out and back up to the surface dirty, but no worse for the wear.
From there, we went back to Brightray to wind things down. We talked about Sean's time in Kanto. Seems he didn't see much of Zero. That's too bad. I miss that lug. We also talked of the future. Ninja and I should probably get what we came for. I was a little tipsy...I guess I haven't built up much of a tolerance yet. Mike drank a whole bottle of rum! He was as drunk as a skunk. Sean and Ninja had to drag him back to the pokemon center. I was supposed to keep watch on him...but I got distracted...and he threw up over Ninja and Sean. I promised Ninja later, I'd be thrown up on in his place next time to make up for it. I was sincere too. Once we got to the pokemon center, I went and found Ninja and I a room while he cleaned up Mike. Ninja came into the room after cleaning up and I went to bed still happy. This had been a good day. Like one of the old days back in Kanto. I missed the island a lot, but I like Iilac ok. I think I could stand coming back one day. Not so sure about Ninja.

Journal Entry #15: Breakout 4 June 1891 I woke up in a cold sweat. The images of my haunting nightmares vanished from memory. I was aching. I woke Ninja. He seemed sick. He told me he needed...to kill soon...I...I don't know what to do...We went out and met with the others who wanted to go to Valleylow. We were met with a platoon of knights. We were under arrest. Can't say I was terribly surprised. Mike and Zeon had...killed...
We were shipped off in a train for Bridgebay. I was silent the whole time. Upon arriving, they took Ninja away and put the rest of us in cells. We got to go out into the yard, eat, and go back to our cells. I was racking my brain trying to think of ways to escape. The others were no help and I grew more and more frustrated with them. Mike eventually escaped and I hoped he made it out ok. I was working on my plan that night...when all hell broke loose. Good ole Mike. Bringing Pirates.
I ran off into the confusion to find Ninja. I was worried sick about him. I checked in two rooms. Both had crazy people. One even assaulted me. And me without my weapons. I found Ninja soon though. He seemed...angry...His cot was in shambles. We went down the hall and found his pokemon and weapons, and went back into the fray. We came across two...prisoners..and..Famine...growled at them. He was there....he scared me...What would happen if...
We beat the two guards and Ninja somehow reigned Famine in. Meeting with the others, we escaped the prison and met up with Vince. He looked like he was having the time of his life. I wasn't. We fought a few more guards, then escaped. I felt sick to my stomach. The rest of the day passed in a blur for the most part. I tried to get Ninja to...do what he needed, but he refused...And I didn't have the will to protest further...

Journal Entry #16: Pain 5 June 1891 Today was...bad...It started the same as yesterday. A phantom nightmare I couldn't remember...Ninja was worse. It was shocking...He told me not to worry but...That doesn't help matters. I waited for Ninja then we met up with the others. We decided to sneak into Valleylow via storm drain. We all challenged the gym and did fairly well. It was pouring when we came out.
The rain was awful, and we tried to figure out the cause. Appearantly an Azuril was the cause of all the trouble. We found it, caught it, and delivered it back to its owner. Everyone went separate ways after that and I was left to myself at the Brightray PC. I sat awake for hours. I was afraid. I was hurt. I was sad. Sad for the person Ninja would have to kill. Sad for myself. I cried alone and afraid to go to sleep, but it came. It came like a wall. It hit me hard. I think I just passed out eventually from sheer exhaustion. I delved deeper into my darkest dreams to face the phantom horror that await...

Journal Entry #17: Rebel 11 June 1891 She's gone. Finally and truly gone. I haven't felt more like myself in weeks. And everything that entails.
On saturday, we went to Fortuna for work. I was feeling worse than before. Sick and exhausted. We Instead of work, we found trouble. At the Black Cat Casino. Nate tried walking in the front door and got shot. Sean went to save him but he only ended up getting shot too. It was so hard to process what was happening...my head was pounding...Mike and I found a side entrance and Ninja used one of the two men inside to kill the other. I protested...but weakly...I couldn't...argue the point. It felt like something was pushing its way out of my skull....
Sean, Nate, and I went off to sneak around...but we couldn't subdue the person in time...He shot his gun...It gave us away. I got so pissed off...I.....And then it happened. She wrenched control away from me. She ordered Tsume to kill the man while a gropped blindly. The man died...My..fault...Couldn't save him....gave in...No. Not again. I hated being controlled. I fought back and managed to snatch control back from her. I slumped against the wall in the lull and bit her back down. She was relentless though. As hard as I tried to shut her away, I couldn't. I wasn't strong enough and there wasn't time...
We were moving again. Shadow was pounding at me. I couldn't focus on anything other than her, she was drawing all of my attention. We opened the door to come face to face with a another bandit and a gun with a hostage. I couldn't do both. I couldn't save the girl and fight Shadow. I tried..but Shadow overpowered me easily. The man went down as I fought with Shadow. But she beat me down. We went down the hall away from danger and I struggled to regain my hold, but circumstances arose and I couldn't do two things at once. I hate her so much...
Shadow killed remorselessly. All throughout the casino. She killed anyone that crossed us. Each blow hit me harder than the last. The casino owner paid us and we left for the Pokemon Center to tend to Mike. I was exhausted, beaten and hurting. Shadow had control. Ninja tried to call me out. I stirred and fought back with all my dwindling strength...but Shadow swat me away as easily as a fly. Any more attempts would just weaken me more. Even though Ninja called me again, I couldn't react. I had to stockpile whatever I had left.
I shut down. Shadow had control..I'm not sure what she did but when she receeded and I went out to check, I was on a bed. Ninja was sitting beside me. Then I sank down into the murk to battle Shadow. We ended up in the charred remains of my forest. I lifted my sword listlessly while Shadow watched me from a boulder a little ways off. I waited for her to make the first move but she just watched me with a disappointed expression. She was the most irritating person I'd ever known! I lunged for her, but my form was sloppy and she easily dodged. Her claws extended and she raked them across my throat. I couldn't speak. Shadow issued more of her taunts following the disappointed theme. I attacked again infuriated. No matter how many times this monster beat me down, I'd still find a way to kill her!
We fought for what seemed like hours. Eventually, Shadow stopped taunting me. She made a casual comment about my friends disappointing her as well. I realized why she'd gone quiet. She was spreading her influence. Well two could play at that! I reached out and healed someone- I think it was Nate -Then put myself into our battle with renewed effort scoring several blows. Shadow was obviously more concerned about messing with my friends rather than fighting me. More time passed. Soon we were both beaten, bleeding and ragged. I sent out Black to help the others. He could do it for me, so I could focus on the battle.
We were both tired. Both beaten. Both aching. Sometime just before the others came Shadow blasted me with...something. It didn't hurt so I took a minute to look at myself...I was her. That was her plan. That wasn't happening. Ninja wasn't stupid. I slashed Shadow's arm open. Shadow sent out a wave of dark energy to knock me back then changed her appearance slowly. She made herself look like me. I lunged angrily and we clashed again as the others burst into the clearing. I was shocked to see them. I tried calling out to them, but garbled. Shadow jumped, also surprised. They began to attack Shadow and I relaxed slightly just before she shoved her sword through my chest.
I fell back in a blur of pain helpless. Shadow was exhausted, but now it seemed like she was pretending she wasn't. She had to know she couldn't beat Famine...So why try? I had Sean pull the blade out of my chest and I lunged back in to attack, but Shadow sent my an exsasperated look and knocked me back with her claw, knocking the wind out of me. I couldn't breathe...And then it was all over.
The next day, Ninja, myself and the others went to complete a gym. I was exhausted, but I felt great. I felt like myself again just extremely tired. Shadow was gone...I should have never let her back in...but she hadn't seemed that malevolent in the beginning...I thought...there might have been at least one redeeming quality to her...I thought I'd seen something...but I was wrong. She was just a monster. A dead one now. I was tired, but elated giving the whole day an airy sort of feel.
Then...Ninja broke some news to me...bursting my bubble. He was going away because I had made him miserable. There it was. The cold truth. It hurt. A lot. Ninja left, and I felt cold inside. I fell onto my bed and let it all out.
....
Tomorrow I'm heading up to the mountains. They're my home in whichever region I happen to be in. I'll stay there for a few days to think. I can't stay here. Not in this city. This room. I need to leave. Tomorrow I'm going to the mountains. Alone.

Journal Entry #18: Legends June 25 1891 This world is full of ancient and powerful beings. All of them are to be respected. Groudon, Kyogre, Reshiram, and others...But instead people hunt them down to obtain their power...Those things are sacred...how could they use those creatures to their own selfish ends? I just...can't understand it.
Groudon. Zeon and Mike were going to disturb its home and capture it. How could they? Groudon is a force of nature. He needs to be free, not confined to some stupid trainer who thinks he's all powerful. I'm forced to rethink my opinion of Zeon...Is he really my friend? Or would he betray me for a ounce more power? Can I trust these people? ...But I do know one thing. If Zeon crosses me or Ninja, I will end him, whether he has Groudon or not. I will end him.
We found Reshiram while looking for answers to Nate's past. He's an orphan, like me and we also helped him get revenge while meeting another...unorthodox legend, the Ghost Rider. He was a flaming skeleton on a flaming rapidash. Really cool. He killed the mayor when Nate was incapacitated. I didn't have much to say about that. He was like me, an avenger. I've been so tired lately...maybe its all of the tension I've been feeling...

Journal Entry #19: Homeward Bound June 26 1891 I awoke in Sienna town at the Pokemon center with Ninja. Today was the day. The end to our miserable stay in Iilac. I couldn't wait to go home! Ninja and I set out for Madam Salam's fortune telling hut. She greeted us and took us to the back to the same room we'd been in before. We took the dream tea and laid down, soon passing into the dream realm.
I woke up at our house. The house. On our island. And there was Ninja. I was happy to see him, but I was confused. He seemed to have totally forgotten the reason we were here. He said we had to go somewhere...when I asked...he said it was to see my parents. But, they were dead and I told him this. Ninja was shocked which confused me even more. I told him about Iilac and everything that had happened there, but he laughed and accounted it to a dream. Iilac had been no dream. And one of the strangest things was...we were married. I was pretty sure that hadn't happened. I would remember our wedding day.
We left for Johto, and arrived after a few hours in Blackthorn. I saw my parents. Alive. It was sick and cruel. I still missed my parents badly even after coming to terms with what had happened. This was just wrong. I excused myself and went to look at the forest that I'd grown up in. It was untouched. I decided it was time to confront my captors.
I flew back and called out "Ninja." He insisted that my world, the real one, was a dream. But, eventually, he gave up trying to fool me. My "mom" and "dad" came out as well. They tried to convince me to stay, but I couldn't. I had my Ninja to get back to. I was released and met the real Ninja in the dream world. We wandered around aimlessly until we came to a mountain. We climbed it and came face to face with Darkrai himself.
Darkrai had no intention of letting us escape his nightmare realm. Madam Salam intervened thankfully and we fled the mountain while Salam held Darkrai. We came to a grove far into the dream world and met with Cresselia. Just as she was healing us of our nightmares, Darkrai reappeared. He was furious and attacked us...but Cresselia finished her work and woke us.
I was back in Madam Salam's house with Ninja. We thanked Salam and said our goodbyes. We grabbed lunch before we left for Kanto and talked a little about our dreams. In Ninja's there had been a fake Faye, like the fake Ninja in mine. After lunch, we flew for home. I was exhausted and I think I fell asleep. I woke up at the house. Ninja let me down. He'd carried me in.
Ninja went to wash up and I marveled at being home. It felt so good. So peaceful. Ninja came back and I went to wash up. I was happy. I cleaned up quickly and returned to our room, and went to bed with Ninja beside me. Utter bliss. I guess this is how fairy tales end. Happily ever after.
