Alright guys, Gold has been removed, so we have one more empty gym; if you wanna fill it, let me know. Also, just for those of you who have fought a gym that's been removed and won;
YOUR BADGE IS STILL VALID.
This means that as long as you get eight; it doesn't matter from whom; you can compete in the Pokemon league. For instance, if you have Beyonce's badge, and Nathan keeps pwning you with his Palkia, then you don't even need to fight Nathan; you can make it just fine without his badge.
