Team at a glance:
Team Overview:
This was a team I kind of threw together after realizing my complete lack of Special Sweepers on any of my teams, also I wanted to give a Baton Passing team a try since i had been dinking around with Stealth rocks/spikes for so long. So after some careful consideration this is what I came up with. Latios and Gengar get switched out with Poryzon-Z or Alakazam from time to time, but since getting the Latios off the GTS I feel like its pretty boss.
In-depth look:
Heatran @ Leftovers
Calm
Flash Fire
244 HP / 36 SpA / 12 SpD / 216 Spe
Torment
Protect
Lava Plum
Substitute
After facing a Heatran with this build a while back I was very interested in making one of my own, and after having to quit and do it twice when i messed the EV's up I got him finished. In the 10 or 20 battles Ive used him in he has been awesome, if you send in Heracross to bate out a Fire attack and then switch back to Heatran hes pretty much a monster. I normally leave him in even when facing enemies with SE attacks because with the Torment and Protect Heatran rarely takes to much damage. Because hes steel he has a ton of resistances giving you alot of opportunity's to set his Sub up and just start Lava Pluming.
Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Adamant
Multiscale
252 HP / 44 Atk / 212 Spe
Dragon Dance
Roost
Fire Punch
Outrage
My main Physical Sweeper, i was going to rename him the broom. Dragonites Dreamworld ability makes him a boss, you can easily get off a Dragon Dance and take next to no damage depending on what your getting hit with. After DD is up he can sit there and just outrage like crazy, OHKO's most weaker Pokemon or at least gets close. I went for Fire punch over Extreme speed just to cover the Steel Bases since Outrage does crap to steel. Roost is nice if you can get a good momentum going, and the Lum berry lets dragonite potentially sweep all 6 Pokemon unconfused.
Venomoth @ Wide Lens
Timid
Tinted Lenses
252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Sleep Powder
Bug Buzz
Quiver Dance
Baton Pass
Venomoth is the newest pokemon I've trained, and generally this teams Lead. Throw down a sleep powder and then start quiver dancing. I gave him the wide lenses just to maybe increase sleep powders accuracy and it apparently has worked since Ive yet to miss one. I had debated putting another type of buff on this guy for him to pass off but with Tinted lenses and after quiver dance even Venomoth can get lucky and take a Pokemon or two out that are resistant against bug.
Scarhino the Heracross @ Choice Scarf
Adamant
Guts
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Close Combat
Megahorn
Night Slash
Stone Edge
Scarhino is awesome, out speeds pretty much everything and anything he doesn't he generally can take a hit from it with a small amount of hp remaining. Not much else to say about this guy other then he's proved himself to be extremely useful. He used to have Toxic but i opted for Night Slash after desperately needing some sort of Dark attack.
Gengar @ Black Sludge
Timid
Levitate
Substitute
Shadow Ball
Focus Blast
Thunderbolt
Gengar is a guy i transferred over from 4th Gen and never really used over there until now. Depending on the situation he generally gets the Baton pass, being ghost and his levitate ability gives him the best coverage as far as not being able to be hit by things plus he's extremely fast even without the Baton passed quiver dance. With his move set he do decent damage to a majority of types, at one point i debated on switching Sub out with something else but after the Baton Quiver Dance he can take a few hits here and there and still keep the sub up.
Latios @ Life Orb
Timid
Levitate
Calm Mind
Dragon Pulse
Psychic
Surf
I decided not to go with Draco Meteor due to the annoying stat drop after one use, it may be worth it to destroy someone after a Calm Mind or a Baton Pass but I was thinking more long term. The Life orb gives him a bit more damage to that's nice, and he already out speeds pretty much everything. Surf does a good amount of damage after a Buff and pretty cookie cutter id say. Got this guy off a GTS Trade for a Froslass, suckers.
Conclusion:
Not sure what else to say about this team, other then Heatran its pretty offensive anyway to look at it, but offense makes for the best defense some times, especially when there's not to many Pokemon that can out speed most of these guys expect Heatran, and unbuffed Dragonite. This is a great RMT team, Venomoth, one special sweeper and then Heracross or Dragonite to mop up whatevers left over if need be. Wifi wise, i haven't lost with it yet but it could definitely use a tweak here or there. As I said before, Alakazam or Porygon-Z can fit right in to the place of Gengar/Latios if I'm feeling frisky. So yeah, any ideas to make it better?
