Frankly, PLO is dead.
If we want any chance of surviving, than we really have to act now. Currently, PLO is a free host for our Chatango chat that looks pretty. We need to be more than this. We should be more than this. We can't let all of our efforts go to waste.
WE'VE COME TO FAR TO DIE HERE.
We need to advertise, and actually post. We have to become a fully active forum again if we want to see any change.
or we die.
Is anyone with me or am I standing alone in wanting to keep PLO alive?

With Black & White 2 coming in 2 months, we should use the opportunity to bring back life to this forum. After all, we are in the first page of google when you type in pokemon league lol

This is true, but we definitely can't just ride the wave of BW2. We need to spread the word. Advertise anywhere where there may be people that would be interested.
The best chance we have to get people to join though is to actually post occasionally. Whatever you can. Find a place for it and put it down.
Also the format that Ninja set up is useless if we never do any official battles. They can be any rules, even random matches on Pokemon Showdown. We just need to post the results.

Well one thing is to advertise in different forums, but you will have to break the rule in allowing them to advertise here. Another is to post the site on the pro boards support.

Well, whoever can should make a youtube video advertising the site.
We need to start posting, we may need to get rid of the chatango chat so we can post on the forum more often than we do now.
I for one will stick with this site like the rest of you. I will try my best to advertise wherever I can even if it's spending a day a day making fliers, and handing them out and the boardwalk, on PO/Showdown, and on different sites.
PLO shall not die!

I also think we should take down the no advertising part and limit advertising. Maybe something like if you let us advertise we let you advertise.
Rules can be changed. I think we have to do anything we can to get new members.

We need to advertise on places like Serebii and Smogon. Bring in the crowds and talk to people on Pokemon Showdown and Online as much as we can. Adding an advertising section would really be helpful too. Advertising is fine as long as its done in the appropriate place. The youtube videos would probably be best received on channels such as Ninja's. I can start posting up battles and nuzlockes as time goes on. Advertising my own, as well as this site in the process. A facebook group would also be another idea for people to try. Flyers and handouts only work so far and word of mouth can only go so far as well. If you need more ideas, I pulled a list of advertising ideas. The link is here. It's for RPG sites, but some of it can be applied here. |
