Seriously, like, it's bad enough that it's genderless. But it also takes 10,240 steps to hatch (5,120 with flame body). THEN it takes forever to get the egg in the first place.

What's even more fun is synchronizing adamant shiny Beldums.
Let me tell you the tale. There once was a shiny Beldum. This shiny Beldum was very prized in certain parts of the world, especially Seyla's house. So Seyla, the amazing chaining master that he is, decided he would hunt the elusive Beldum. But, there was a catch. The shiny Beldum is a swarming Pokemon. So firstly Seyla needed to wait for the appropriate day. Day after day went by, and there were no Beldums. Then finally, on a cold 90 F morning, it happened. The Beldum were swarming! Seyla immeadiately went off to route 228, home of the Beldum, to begin his chaining safari. But, there was a catch. For you see, route 228 has a constant sandstorm blowing night and day ceaselessly without end, never ending. This particular sandstorm was no ordinary sandstorm. No, this sandstorm was a vile machination of the PokeDevil! This sandstorm renders the PokeRadar useless! The shaking patches of grass are nigh impossible to see. But Seyla persevered! He chained, and chained, and chained! Never getting past 5. Seyla soon learned that this was a lost cause. Not even Gunbuster itself could stop this sandstorm! But alas! Rumors soon spread that the new Pokemon Platinum version had vastly improved the visibility of the grass patches! Seyla was elated that this fact, and ran off to get himself a copy.
So the story began again. Seyla prepped his gear. Bought his 999 Max repels, and didn't forget his synchronizing slave(for he demanded perfection!) And then it began. The hunt for elusive shiny Beldum truely started at this point. The chaining was slow and methodical. The new Pokeradar was better, but it was still the most challenging chain Seyla ever attempted. Onward, to chain 10, then 20! Then; suddenly, at 24, he saw it. The shiny patch! It was beautiful. The lvl 52 shiny Beldum, sitting there! But, there was a catch! To Seyla's horrible dismay, he remembered that the only move Beldum carries is Take Down! This move carries a terrible recoil penalty! Seyla had to act fast. Sleep was the best poison, so Seyla sent out his mighty Parasect! His parasect was quite the manly man indeed, and with his powerful spores, drew out the life of the Beldum with surgeon-like precision! But, there was a catch!!!!!!!!! Beldum has a abysmal catch rate of 3! What cruel, sadistic, Japanese programmer would play this kind of evil game on Seyla?!?! The catch rate of 3 is the lowest in the game! It is equal with the hardest legendaries! But Seyla bravely pushed on. Knowing his best opportunity was at night, he waited. And waited. And waited some more! Til the power of his Dusk Balls were at their peak! Then he began to throw them. Dusk ball after dusk ball flew at the mighty Beldum, while at the same time, the Beldum crept ever closer to KOing itself with Take Down, or worse, KOing itself with struggle! The battle waged for hours, with neither side giving up! Til at last, Seyla was out of Dusk Balls! So one ultra ball was thrown. As it flew, Seyla knew this one was special. It was as if time itself crept to a stand-still, the ball slowly flowing through the air at the mighty Beldum! Then, one shake! Two shakes! Three shakes!!!! *click* The legendary shiny Beldum was captured! The moment was over at last. All those years of training had finally paid off. It was...perhaps the manliness moment of my life, and I can honestly say that it single-handedly turned me into the man I am today.
But, there was a catch! As Seyla knew the chain could not be continued(for it asked of more manliness than even Gunbuster itself could muster) Seyla knew it was not over yet. There was still one final struggle to deal with: Was it adamant? For everyone knows, that if it were not Adamant, then all was lost. Everything that Seyla stood for, manliness, Gunbuster, The Beatles, meant nothing if this Beldum was not adamant. Seyla flew to Sunnyshore. Seyla walked into the Pokemon Center. Seyla opened the PC. Seyla checked the Beldum. It was adamant.
The end.
And kids, remember. If you ever feel the compulsion to ask Seyla to chain for Beldums. You must first ask yourself this: Are you manly enough?

Lol that was a fairly epic tale indeed. I feel like Pachi is an insult to your manliness now.
I checked no beldum to breed. I am pretty sure I have a careful ditto just no beldum/metang/metagross to breed.

That reminds me of an equally painful story about hatching adamant Beldums in gen 3 before I had a ditto fleet. It is quite similar to your tale Neut; however, mine has a sad ending.
