Hey I'm brand new to this

Hi I'm totally new to all of this, my friend told me about this a few days ago and here I am now, but i'm not sure what I have to do. Would someone give me a hand?

First of all, welcome to the League.

Secondly, the purpose of this league is to simulate the game. Except without the actual traveling through town, following a story, you know, the actual game. Instead, you can challenge the fellow gym leaders here and earn badges. Once you get all 8 badges, you can then challenge the Elite 4. You can also battle other trainers, gain battle tips, make trades, or just chat with fellow Poke trainers.

From time to time, there might also be events like tournaments which are loads of fun since it makes the forum members interact with each other more. That's a basic run through of the league.

ok and you have to be able to hook up through the game into Wi-Fi, now how do you get together with them?

It's ok. Everyone starts off as a beginner with this stuff. Basically if you want to challenge a gym leader, you would make a post or a thread in their respective section saying you want to challenge them. If they accept your challenge, you exchange Friend Codes. If your both not on at the same time, you either wait till your both on or pick a time to battle. Once that's settled, you go into the Wi-Fi room and battle. If you win, they give you the badge. If the gym leader have any specific rules and battle systems, you must respect that and follow under like. Like if they'll only do battles of Level 50 3 vs 3 you must agree to that.

You can edit your profile and go to the signature section. There, just paste in your friend code and your good to go. Battling other trainer works the same way. Just ask if they want to battle and if they say yes, your good to go.

one last thing, do i have to use hg or ss or can i use diamond, pearl, or platinum?

You can use whatever you like using. Some people use Platinum, others like HG or SS.

ok so since i have gotten farthest in diamond and is my best game out of all of them that would be ok? And Say you have a LV 100 and the gym only allows LV 50 do you have to use a different pokemon or is there an option where it will just be leveled down? Again I'm sorry for not knowing alot. Don't like being a burden.

There's an option in the Wifi room to set the battle to either level 50 or level 100. Your Pokemon will automatically be bumped to that level with the stats they should have at that level. And I don't mind. Mods are here to help.

Thank you sooo much, questions come out as i type this, In a gym battle if you battle someone do you have to use a single type or can you use a variety of types, I do know that if you are a gym leader or in a tournament you can only use one type but the pokemon can have a double type. Also can legendaries be used ever or do you not reccomend it?

You can use a mixed team. The Gym Leader has to use all of the same type.

If your a gym leader, you have to use the type you wanted. Anything with that type you can use. For example, if you are the flying gym leader, you could use Charizard or Aerodactyl since they both have flying in their type. And anything on the banned list can't be used. My typical rule of thumb about legendaries is that if your facing me with them, I only limit 2 since I don't use legendaries at all. I will allow more then that if necessary.
