Well, I have the original NDS, and today it started randomly shutting off on me...and it'll be another few weeks before I can afford to buy a used one, so I was wondering if anyone knew somewhere I could buy a cheap used one? I would like to upgrade to a DS Lite...yes, I said upgrade. It's an upgrade for me. The best I've found so far is at Gamestop for $90...a friend of mine suggested eBay, but I've never used it before, and not entirely sure if I should trust it...what would you guys suggest?

No, Gamestop is your best bet. Plus you can buy a warrenty with a used DS in case it breaks down.

I think it's like an extra $9 and lasts for about a year. I'm not exactly sure because I don't buy used stuff.

Yeah, unless a friend is selling one, or you have an independent game store that has one cheaper near you, GS is your best bet. I still recommend a DSi unless you want GBA (a.k.a. Gen 3) support, the screen is so much better.

Gen 3) support, the screen is so much better. Considering I've imported everything I want (and pretty much have access to all those Pokemon anyway), I would like a DSi, but pricing is the major factor. I don't have $150 to spend on one... It would take me a couple weeks at least to put aside the cash to get a used Lite for $90. Unless I get a credit card and make payments...it's an idea I guess. But then again, it wouldn't be worth paying the extra interest. I dunno. Slayer, why specifically would you suggest the DSi? I read a review on IGN of it and I'm interested.

The main thing is the screens are so much more vibrant, I can do side by sides if you want. The cameras are also pretty cool, but not a deal breaker for me, the music player is decent if you don't have an MP3 player already, and there is the posibilty that Black and White will be able to use the advanced internet security features that are on the DSi, which I need right now. It's up to you which one you get, but the screens are better on the DSi, and they are a little bigger too. A couple of the DSi ware games are pretty cool as well, plus there is the web browser availible for free, but as I stated before you'll need another system to play GBA games.

I dunno...the DSi is still pretty recent, and there will definitely be more to come. I'll keep weighing my options for now.
