Explosion and Selfdestruct

Even though there is a ban on OHKO moves and Stealth Rock, there are still moves I think are very annoying, and very close to OHKO moves: Explosion and Selfdestruct.
Thing here is that their not exactly OHKO moves, but still very powerful to be potential OHKO moves most of the time; which kinda makes them very edgy.

What I'm asking for is...a ban on Explosion and Selfdestruct.

I would have to disapprove this for a couple reasons.

• There's a backlash to this; the users pokemon dies.
  
• It can be avoided using a Ghost type.
  
• It can also be avoided using Damp.
  
• A pokemon with high defenses or a Rock and/or Steel type can defend from this very easy.
  

Over all, it's not that strong. It can be avoided easier then you think.

It is not easier then you think. Ok look I say they stay but here are my reasons why it isn't that easy. Ghost not that actively used aside from Gengar even then use is Minimal. Only Golduck has damp pretty much and that pokemon barely sees use. Bulky Pokemon more often die to it or are very very close. You cant say Steel/Rock because a few are fragile like crazy. I for one have 30 pokemon none of can live the selection of Pokemon that can is quite limited.

Even if your Pokemon dies, the opponent does too. It's not like Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure. Where it automatically kills your opponent and you get no side-effect. If you decide to use Self-Destruct or Explosion, that's the users own risk. Since there is a chance where you will survive the blow and they die.

We're not going to go about banning moves and pokeon willy nilly. I agree with Neutral, there is no reason for this. These moves KILL your pokemon so there's a huge risk when using them. We're not just going to start banning stuff because a few people find it annoying. If we ban too much we're going to end up with a very boring and predictable metagame.

That is not a downside really. You lose 1 of your while they just brought a Kamikaze there is no risk to it if it is so openly used on movesets the risk doesnt matter plus they can use it when 2 hits from death (1 if faster). It is not a downside and like I said a great majority fall to it.

I was training in Cerluean Cave and guess what I find? A shiny Electrode. I used an Ultra Ball on it but it only made it to the last shake..... you know what move the electrode uses? FREAKIN SELFDESTRUCT!!!!!
