For the sake of sanity, we might want to limit Swap outs ( to like 10 or so) not counting moves like baton pass, u-turn ext.
I'm just saying this because JamesoJohto and I had a 5+ minute battle (that drove us to disconect) that was tedious and repeditive, with almost no progress.
Discuss.

What are you, crazy? We can't do that! It's the way of the game.

No. This is the back bone of competitive battling. No.

Ninja you shouldn't close a topic just because of your reasoning only. Give other people a chance to discuss this until this topic dies out. Then it can be locked.
Also, no.

I'm just suggesting this after a no progress battle with James.
EX: Espeon vs Drapion I swap out Espeon for Bronzong He swaps Drapion for Muk (with flamethower) I swap Bronzong for Starmie He swaps for Venasaur I swap for Espeon. Repeat. Very little progress was made in this try. It just waisted time. Oh, and I posted this as a suggestion, and I would like more of a reason than "its the backbone" because if THIS was the backbone of compeditive battling, you have never heard of stratagy and thinking ahead? I personally try to have moves to cover my weaknesses on the majority of my pokemon. Also, have you not heard that many official tournaments do not allow swap outs?

if you have moves that cover weaknesses then you should be good.........ex: if starmie knew ice beam.........you could think like this....hes got a grass type and he knows that i can super efectively hit him........so i use ice beam............or: hes got a venasaur....psychic is good against it...........i will use a psychic type attack.........this is what i do if i know what my oponents team is............if i dont know his team then i go with most likely type....

I'm all for discussing a reasonable idea, but I don't think that this is one. I don't want to be mean, but this is a bad idea. I only see this topic leading to hurt feelings or flaming. that's why I locked it. If you really think there's something to discuss here, leave it opened, but I don't think this needs to be debated or discussed.
EDIT: Without switching it's just sending out two guys to smack each other until one goes down. There's no strategy involved. Strategy is the key to beating your opponent and limiting switching takes away strategy.
In the situation you described, why didn't one of you change things up? If you knew who was going to be switched in, switch in a counter, it's up to you not to repeat the same process over and over again.

If flaming and harassment starts here; then this has an absolute reason to be locked. Not to be mean, but you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. But yea to be on topic, I dis-approve of this idea. Switching is absolutely ok. Someones going to get damage anyway sooner or later.

I'm not saying it shold be banned. (for the third time) I am just suggesting limiting it because it delays too much and waists time. (Oh, and for my example, it doesn't matter what the pokemon have, for ITS HAPPENED ALREADY, in that instance, I had made my starmie before I saw he had a venusaur, and it may or may not have either of those moves.)
