You can EV train a Pokemon at any level except 100. How am I supposed to do this without messing my EV's up? Right now I got my full 255 defense and i'm still level 13. Obviously way too weak for tentacools still.

Let's say I use the Exp share. I give the substitute attacker the Special Defense Bracer. The pokemon holding the exp share has poke virus. How many EV points would that pokemon get if I defeat a tentacool?

Sadly, Pokerus only effects Pokemon that were actually in the battle, so you would have to swap them.

Just put Power item and pokerus pokemon upfront then switch you'll get all 10.

Nope. If the Pokemon You want to be EV trained has pokerus while holding an exp share, it will only get the EVs gained before Pokerus is calculated.
For instance, if the lead Pokemon has a power item, and you fight a Pokemon that gives you 1 EV, the Pokemon holding the exp share will get 5 EVs. Even if they both have PokeRus. However, if you lead with the Pokemon you want to EV train, while holding a power item, with pokerus, and switch it with the fighter, it will get it's 10 EVs.

Perhaps, but I find your simplicity is easier to read and absorb, I tend to over stress things.

Uhh... I'm pretty certain that I got 255 Defense and S.Defense EV's. But for some reason the person behind the counter is still telling me to work harder. Did I miss count or something?
I used 10 Vitamins for both Defense and Special Defense.
I killed Geodudes for defense with the appropriate Power Item and Poke Virus, that should of been 10. So 100 + 160 (155) = 255.
I killed Tentacruels for S.Defense with the appropriate Power Item and Poke Virus, that should of been 16. So 100 + 160 (155) = 255.
Could I have done something wrong? I kept track on paper and all.
