1.) Name Change of PLO. How many Battle Frontier Brains? If you are going to start a Battle Frontier, or Frontier park, maybe the new name should be PLO Battle Frontier, just a thought. 12 Brains, 1 Battle Frontier Champion. 2.) PLO policy on Legendary Pokemon: If PLO Moderators/Admins want to keep the legend banned/uber list as is, that's fine. If not, allow each Frontier Brain to have 1 legendary Pokemon on their team (it can be only non-ubers or banned Pokmon like Darkrai, Mewtwo, etc. 3.) How does one become a Frontier Brain? Same as with gym leaders and E4. If a Frontier Brain cannot fulfill their duties or is gone for a long period of time without a valid reason, then a tournament should be held. To decrease time on this, just set the rules for the tournament, and the winner becomes the new Frontier Brain. (However, Metal Coat's format seemed better and more structured). 4.) Battle Frontier Themes: Similar to how gym leaders and E4 Members have themes currently. Champion can use any types of Pokemon and not restricted to one theme. 5.) Battle Format for Battle Frontier This should be 6 vs. 6, but that's what I prefer. Maybe battle frontier brains should up with their own. 2 vs. 2, 3 vs. 3. 6.) Change of Gym Leaders and Elite 4 Members. All 12 would become Battle Frontier Brains with symbols instead of badges, nicknames like Pyramid King, or Sky Palace Guardian for example. 7.) PLO Champion change: A challenger must have at least 7 Battle Frontier symbols to challenge the champion. If defeated by a fellow Frontier Brain, the former champ becomes a regular frontier brain. Haven't came up if the Battle Frontier Champion is defeated by a none battle frontier brain though. 8.) Battle Frontier Symbols: To replace gym badges, battle symbols are crated. The battle frontiers symbols should be based off of life principles instead of elements like gym badges, but either is fine. For example: Truth Symbol Scale Symbol Brave Symbol Knuckle Symbol Power Symbol Shadow Symbol Fate Symbol Inferno Symbol Heart Symbol Frost Symbol Spirit Symbol Hydro Symbol Champion Symbol Diversity Symbol 9.) Battle Location and Nicknames Locations and Nicknames Battle Pyramid, Pyramid King Battle Forest, Forest Guardian Battle Sky Palace, Sky Prince Battle Dome, Dome Performer Battle Ocean Shrine, Ocean Priest Battle Dragon Palace, Dragon Dancer Battle Dark Cavern, Cavern Lord Battle Dojo, Dojo Master Battle Ice Castle, Ice Doctor Battle Psychic Tower, Psychic Villian Battle Factory, Factory Fixer Battle Jungle, Jungle Wildman Battle Spa, Spa Director 10.) Challengers do not have to go in a particular order. Please keep in mind, these are only ideas to contribute. I will come up with more, but this is what I have thus far. Metal Coat had some great ideas with his format too. Can we keep our themes as gym leaders and Elite 4 Members? I assume we would start over basically since badges won't be valid anymore right? 1) I agree with the few others who have suggested keeping the name. Technically we will no longer be a league, but we are very high ranked on google right now and we worked hard to get there. This is an incredibly important accomplishment and not something we should toss away. It makes our likelihood of new traffic significantly higher than being buried on page three or four or lower. I think keeping the name is definitely the way to go. 2) I believe these rules will be left up to the frontier brain, meaning, if you have an arena, you can choose your own ban list. This allows everyone to be happy. If yo don't like legends, you can disallow them in your arena and if you want to play a more standard ban-list, you can do that too. It also allows challengers to pick and choose which brains they wish to compete against and play more fitting to their style. It's become clear that one ban list isn't going to satisfy everyone. I don't think simply sticking a one-legend per team limit is going to solve anything. 3) As I mentioned before, active leaders will be able to choose if they wish to become brain or not (active being the key term here). If we expand the number of brains, we will mostly likely hold a tournament to choose who is deserving of new spot. Inactivity will get you kicked. @darkfire: Why shouldn't active leaders get the chance to be brains? They are the most active members. They're the ones who come on day after day to check for challenges instead of being inactive for weeks at a time. I will certainly be removing some of the more inactive leaders however. 4) I'm a little confused. You seemed to support this in your first post and then argue against it when you replied to Shark. Brains would need some kind of 'theme' though the term is lose. Type could certainly be a theme (though you would be able to use on or two wildcards if you so wished), as could anything like weather, battle style (doubles maybe?), or even something like having all pokemon from one region. I don't believe this will be too limiting since it is essentially up to you to develop your theme, and you should be able to do it in a way that allows you to use the pokemon you like. 5) Again, up to the Brain though 6v6 would probably be preferable in most cases. We will be keeping the PLO clauses that must be followed in every battle (nobosy wants to get haxed to death becuase of minimize or face a team of six Blisseys), but number and banlist will be up to the brain. 6) I really like the idea of earning different grades of plauges, and also really like MC's idea for multiple wins to rotate out. Here is my proposal: Each challenge will consist of a best of three match (so to win, you must win two of the three battles). During the match, neither player can change their team. Beating a brain in a match will earn you the bronze plaque. After winning the bronze plaque, you must wait a determined amount of time to challenge again (maybe a week). Both players can change their teams for this match and if the challenger wins, he receives a silver plaque. Finally, after a second determined amount of time, the challenger my request a final match. If the challenger wins again, they have earned a gold plaque. In addition, if the challenger has not lost a match up until this point (a match, not a single battle), they may also choose to replace the current Brain. However, the challenger only has this opportunity if they win all three matches without losing one between. Challengers must win three matches in a row to take over the position. They may still attempt to do this after receiving the gold plaque. The reason for the difficultly in taking over a position is twofold. One, to prove that the challenger's wins were not just a fluke or the result of inevitable odds (lose enough times and eventually you'll get lucky and win some). And two, to ease the burden on the staff of switching the boards around every other week. We may also need to update the header to make less things that need replaced every-time a switch happens. If challenged, the brain must set up a match time within one week of the challenge. Failure to do so results in the match being rewarded to the challenger. Reasonable excuses will be accepted for delays (though those delays should be no longer than one additional week except for extenuating circumstances), but stalling to avoid a battle will result in a loss to the brain and possible removal form the position (I don't mean to sound mean, but if you don't want to battle, then you don't deserve the spot). 7) A 'champion' position hasn't been decided on yet. I'm not sure what we'll do with it, or if we'll even have one. That will most likely be up to you guys. 8-9) Up to the Brain for the most part as long as 'battle' is the first word in the name; a rather minor detail for the time being. 10) They won't have to. They don't even have to challenge all the brains if they don't want to. Also, a 13 member frontier is to big. In my first post I explicitly said that the gym system was broken in large part due to inactivity. There's no point in making a 13 member frontier if half of those people are inactive or don't want to battle. One of the major reasons for this reformatting is to find something that will accommodate our smaller size and that can grow as we do. We only have about 12 active members, so having that many brains would kind of be pointless. I think we will probably start with between 6-8 frontier brains.

I meant that gym leaders should not auto get a spot(which with the way pope worded it sounded like all 12 gym/e4 would)

Posted by darkfire006 on Yesterday at 9:05pm gym leaders should definately not get preference....e4 maybe... and we have enough inactive league members to eliminate about 4 people(or more)
If gym leaders are active, I don't see why we can't get preference along with E4 four members, grant it E4 is higher, but gym leaders are a huge force in the league. I already competed for my spot, why do I have to do it again? I highly doubt you would make that statement if you were a gym leader@Darkfire.
Response to Ninja:
1.) If you guys want to keep the name as is. That's fine.
2.) Be sure this is stated in your regular PLO rules as well so challengers won't get confused.
3.) Currently how many "active" gym leaders/E4 Members do we have?
4.) When did I argue against what Shark was saying? I was clarifying because Shark stated E4 themes only. I was just saying about how themes can be as one type similar to gym leaders, and when I did a little research, Battle Frontier Brains didn't really have a theme technically.
5.) Well that's how the same went as gym leaders/E4. No one battled with 6 Garchomps either as per PLO regular rules.
6.) Still disagree using plaques as rewards for challengers winning. (Already gave reason, see past post).
The rest is agreed upon and some I stated before.
In your first post/introduction of Battle Frontier topic, it was taken as an idea because I thought this thread was about sharing ideas, and nothing really was "confirmed explicity" about the formation of the Battle Frontier. If I am wrong, please let me know. I just gave my ideas about the Battle Frontier as everyone else.
I don't think it's pointless at all to have 12 brains as it allow options for challengers (pending if 12 are active or still want to battle on PLO). Just because you disagree, doesn't mean it's pointless Ninja. Again, I don't like to assume, so maybe whoever can communicate with the inactive Gym Leader(s)/E4 Member(s) and find out their status. Some of you have other means to reach whoever is not active (i.e. email addresses, phone numbers, etc.). Let's start there first so we have a clear understanding of who would be participating in the Battle Frontier.

2.) Be sure this is stated in your regular PLO rules as well so challengers won't get confused. We will. The Current Ban list would also be removed. 3.) Currently how many "active" gym leaders/E4 Members do we have? I figure we currently have 7-8 active leaders. 4.) When did I argue against what Shark was saying? I was clarifying because Shark stated E4 themes only. I was just saying about how themes can be as one type similar to gym leaders, and when I did a little research, Battle Frontier Brains didn't really have a theme technically. Then I misunderstood. Obviously we will allow more than just E4 themes, since there are only four E4 members. 5.) Well that's how the same went as gym leaders/E4. No one battled with 6 Garchomps either as per PLO regular rules. Yes, which is why the rules will remain the same. Only the banlist will change. 6.) Still disagree using plaques as rewards for challengers winning. (Already gave reason, see past post). I don't really care what we call them. plaques, symbols, trophies, it's all fine. I just used plaques because it's the one that stuck in my mind. Who said you did anything wrong? You gave your ideas, and I read and replied to them. Some I agreed with and some I didn't. Please don't talk down to me Pope. I have talked to all the leaders who are in danger of losing their spots and let them know they need to get on the ball. I've also made sure each of them have read the inactivity announcement I posted. If they come back, great, if not, I won't be replacing them. Also, I'm not assuming anything. If we had 13 frontier positions, we would have few to no challengers, because everyone would be a leader. This isn't an assumption, it's a fact based on the current number of active members we have. We can't let everyone be a leader, we need challengers as well. If we get more members before this overhaul takes place, than I have absolutely no problem having 12 brain positions opened, but as is, we don't have enough active, battling members to support a frontier that size.

i meant that there should be some sort of qualification for those who are gym leaders/e4 to move to brains LEVEL OF ACTIVITY COULD BE ONE OF THE QUALIFIERS I'm sure ones like you, shark, etc. will get spots....you deserve them....
A major point of doing this battle frontier would be to minimize the amount of league members needed...we should have a number of spots(6-9 I suggest) then fill in leaders and e4 on a basis of merit til the list is full(like if their are only 6 spots being a E4 should not get you preference over a GL)

It would also be nice to possibly see a Rank List here on PLO. A ratio of say Wins:Losses. Of course this would apply to the other face of this site, the competitive side (similar to what Ninja and Miles do online, battling people to compete and making videos). I assume the competitive side would be left 'natural', no rules. Whereas this Frontier side would be a challenging a person based on around structured guidelines (rules).
Keep up the progressive and positive debate about this everyone, great to see!

@ninja -Before telling me not to talk down to you, please point out where I did as such? No one is talking down to you. Again, just giving a suggestion Ninja. You should be careful with your wording and never call something"pointless" just because you don't see the point of it and someone else does. I said there should be 12, and again pending as you stated, pending on activation of gym leaders/E4, that shouldn't be a problem unless it's confirmed there will be not a large Battle Frontier. I nonetheless eventually (once we get the structure of PLO Battle Frontier created) focus on what we are calling the rewards (i.e. plaques, trophies, etc) to be consistent, not just whatever sounds clever.
If you disagree Ninja, then state as such, but as I said before your wording of "pointless" can be taken out of context. Also, I said if I am wrong, I didn't say I did anything wrong. I am giving clarity and responding to what you stated in your early post in response to me. As I stated before, it's up to Admins/Moderators to do as you see fit.
@darkfire - Thank you for the clarity, I understand where you are coming from now. I just hope there will be enough numbers Brains and Challengers to support having a league.
It's good to have debates and ideas, but also be very tactful when speaking upon someone else's ideas. Not about hurt feelings or sensitivity, but if you need clarity or don't understand something, then ask. This goes for me and everyone. It seems at times when we disagree on something, it's taken as an attack or personal. Let's quit this and focus on the new structure of PLO. Carry on.

It would also be nice to possibly see a Rank List here on PLO. A ratio of say Wins:Losses. Hmm..this is something we could do if you guys are interested. Though we would need a format for what 'counts' as a battle. It would have to be agreed that the battle counts on your record before each player participates so there is no argument afterwards about whether it will go on your record or not. This also gives me an idea for a second option for our new format instead of the frontier. We could have a 'belt' system, similar to professional boxing. We would have a number of different 'belts' that members could hold. Belts would be things like "Standard Belt" (based on the competitive ban list), "Breeders Belt" (based on non-legends since you can't breed them. It probably needs a better name, but I can't think of one now), "Weather Belt" (a belt for the person with the best weather based team), and Kanto Belt (using pokemon only from Kanto). These are just examples and we could add more or change them if you guys would rather do this than the battle frontier. Again, to win the belt, you'd need to win a match, not just a single battle. In addition, the belts could change hands without the staff needing to change the site layout (a big plus for us) and members could hold more than one belt as well as choose to compete for the belts that fits their playstyle. We could also have image codes that could be added to your signature if you are the current holder of the belt. These could be switched without the need of staff updating them (again, great for the staff). Win-Loss records could also be kept as well. Not saying is is the way we're going now. I'm just saying it's an option. So feel free to weigh in on it. @ninja -Before telling me not to talk down to you, please point out where I did as such? Just because you disagree, doesn't mean it's pointless Ninja. Again, I don't like to assume, so maybe whoever can communicate with the inactive Gym Leader(s)/E4 Member(s) and find out their status. Some of you have other means to reach whoever is not active (i.e. email addresses, phone numbers, etc.). Let's start there first so we have a clear understanding of who would be participating in the Battle Frontier. This is where I feel you are talking down to me. It came off as if you were scolding me. You also assumed I hadn't done anything to get in touch with the inactive leaders after just telling the rest of us never to assume anything. You should be careful with your wording and never call something"pointless" just because you don't see the point of it and someone else does. I said there should be 12, and again pending as you stated, pending on activation of gym leaders/E4, that shouldn't be a problem unless it's confirmed there will be not a large Battle Frontier. Tell me how having 12 frontier brains when we don't even have 12 active battlers isn't pointless. I'm not saying I'm opposed to eventually having 12 brains, or even more than that if we have the numbers to support it. I'm saying we don't have that now. Again, this isn't an opinion, this is a fact. If you disagree Ninja, then state as such, but as I said before your wording of "pointless" can be taken out of context. I disagree, and have already said numerous times, including in the introduction post, that we don't have enough members to support something this big. Once again, it isn't my opinion that we don't have enough battlers to have 12 brains, and champ, and challengers. It's a simple fact. Here is a list of the people who are on and who battle semi-regularly: Ninja, M, Pope, Mike, Shark, Chaos, MC, Kaio, Silver (Doesn't have a BW team, but is active and at the least willing to battle) That's nine. Not enough. Hence my assertion that at this point a 12 member league is pointless. Fox and Neut also have teams so that would be 11 and Darkfire would make 12 if he gets active again, bu that still doesn't leave us with any challengers. I nonetheless eventually (once we get the structure of PLO Battle Frontier created) focus on what we are calling the rewards (i.e. plaques, trophies, etc) to be consistent, not just whatever sounds clever. Once we choose a name, they will all be consistent. So we won' have plaques, trophies, and symbols all mixed together. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. We'll choose one and stick to it. So we now have two options: Battle Frontier or Ranking and belt system Which do you guys like? Do you have a different idea? What else do you think we need to do. Keep the ideas coming.

Darkfire would make 12 if he gets active again Only reason i havent really been active is because i have no way to advance if the gym leaders never come on.... I will be getting more active if we have a better system....were more people are on. i think both ideas are good it gives more to doing free battles.... also if we do this i think that there should be a way for us to cut down on the time of raising a new competitive team.... with the new b/w system that makes us have to get to lvl 100 to have an even battle there should be a system to help us counter that(i seriously will not have time to lvl pokemon to lvl 100 so i can make a weather team or a gen 1 team or a water team, etc.) like arers/hackers lvling a pokemon who is past say the highest lvl move or lvl 75(which ever is higher) i know you this for some ninja but if we want to do this many teams we will need many different pokemon(i know i would like to try for many different belts if we do that system) belt suggestions 1 for each generation(just those pokemon) 1 for each region(this will include like pikachu and abra for hoen and sinnoh) 1 for each type eviolite belt(each pokemon must hold and use the eviolite or each pokemon must just be capable of using it) no item belt no flying type belt triple, double, and rotation belt

I don't think anyone else has access to rare candies either, so for now, the only option is to deal with it.

Off topic note to Ben: Quote from Darkfire's last post: Only reason i havent really been active is because i have no way to advance if the gym leaders never come on.... I will be getting more active if we have a better system....were more people are on.
Ben, I'm insulted. I've been on EVERY DAY since my last play, and EVERY DAY between that one and the one before that, and on EVERY DAY since around xmas. And in that time you've challenged my gym ONCE. Progress is presenting itself to you, in the form of my badge, but you haven't really taken oppertunity in that. Now back on topic: belt suggestions 1 for each generation(just those pokemon) 1 for each region(this will include like pikachu and abra for hoen and sinnoh) 1 for each type eviolite belt(each pokemon must hold and use the eviolite or each pokemon must just be capable of using it) no item belt no flying type belt triple, double, and rotation belt I like that people are thinking with these suggestions, but really, they don't need to be stated here. Lets iron out the idea THEN come up with examples of belts or whatever we decide to use, this will allow this topic to be a bit more streamlined and focused on the big picture, then we can iron out the details, such as examples. And Ninja, your boxing-belt idea is interesting, but I'd personally rather have a battle frontiere with symbols/plaques or whatever, mainly because I see a bit more freedom in the themes in that than with the belts.
