@ninja - Since you couldn't hear my voice, you assumed I scolded you, and I don't know what you did or didn't do as far as contacting the inactive leaders. That's why I recommended to contact them regardless if it's been done or not. It seems sometimes when I mention an idea or suggestion, you seem to go into defense mode if I disagree with you, don't know why that is. Maybe you are reading too hard into my statements. However, we will just agree to disagree at this point.
Anyhow, moving on, whatever you guys decide to do needs to move along because it seems PLO is all over the place right now. I offered some suggestions and accused of scolding and talking down to someone, so my ideas will cease for now. This is getting to be a bit much, so hopefully something will be determined soon.
I like the belt per each generation though. So if that format started, there would be 5 belts right? (hence the 5 generations). So far, Battle Frontier is better suited.

Pope: I actually agreed with the majority of your points, all but the league size and the rule on legends, it seems to me you're forgetting that and focusing on the areas I disagreed with you. In these cases, yes I defended my position. Of course I did, that's the basis of a discussion. I defended my points and offered supporting evidence because that seemed the most rational thing to do. If you feel like you weren't listened to, then I'm sorry you feel that way, but I read every word you said and responded according to not just what I felt but the evidence before me. It wouldn't be much of a conversation if I simply submitted to all of your ideas at the outset, or vice versa. I've tried my best to respond to everyone in this thread, you offered the most ideas, so to you I had the most to say. If you don't want to contribute further, than that is your prerogative, but I will always defend a point I believe in whether it be to you or anyone else on the site. I feel that when people disagree with you, you tend to view their ideas as uninformed or ignorant compared to yours. Perhaps it is because I can't here your voice, but that's what I feel sometimes, not just when you are talking to me. Regarding the second part of you statement, I agree PLO is all over the place right now. What we have isn't working and so I'm trying to find something that will. I want to settle on an idea and structure as well, but I want to make sure it's something that offers a fun way to play for everyone. I apologize if I seem like I'm bouncing all over the place with random ideas, but I'm just trying to give everyone as many options as I can because I want to make everyone happy and offer everyone a way to battle that they will enjoy. It seems like the Battle Frontier has the most support, so I guess unless anyone else contributes a new suggestion, we will focus on that. Here is an overview of what we currently have: 1) Leaders will be known as frontier brains. These leaders will be able to make their own banlist to accommodate all different styles of play, but we will still have a common rule set, which will be posted in the rules section. 2) Brains will be able to make their own topic which includes their arena name and reward name. Arena names must have the word 'battle' in the title at the beginning, and the reward will have to use whichever type we ultimately decide to give (trophy, plaque, symbol, etc). 3) League size will be based on the number of players it can support. We'll start smaller, and grow as the site grows. Current leaders will have preference on brain positions. 4) Challengers who consistently beat the Brains will earn different grades of rewards, and may take over the Brain's position if they are able to win three matches in a row. The header on on the front page of the site will most likely be changed to make this transition easier on the staff. 5) We still have the option to do the belts as a side thing if there is enough interest. That's it for now, there are still a few more weeks to discuss things until I come back from vacation and try to get these changes implemented.

I suggest you put up a poll for the reward If you put it up soon you will have the time to catch the opinions of those who care but can't be on often.
Also the brains might be allowed to change one rule instead of banning pokemon? Also we should decide if their should be any legends(arceus?) on a site wide ban

I suggest you put up a poll for the reward If you put it up soon you will have the time to catch the opinions of those who care but can't be on often. Done Also the brains might be allowed to change one rule instead of banning pokemon? The other reason we're doing this (besides not having enough people for a full league), is that we can't all agree on a banlist. That's why brains are allowed to make their own, to give themselves, and challengers, a chance to battle in varying environments so that everyone can find something they like. In regards to allowing brains to change a rule, I don't think that's a good idea. Most of those rules are in place everywhere (not just our site), and for good reason. No one want to just have their opponent spam double team until they're impossible to hit or get lucky with OHKO moves until they win purely by chance. The core rules will stay, though brains can still add their own like they can in the gyms. Also we should decide if their should be any legends(arceus?) on a site wide ban We probably should. I think we should still keep a basic ubers list that consist of all of the heavy hitters as well as probably Darkrai and Shaymin-S. It would look like this: Mewtwo Lugia Ho-oh Groudon Kyogre Rayquaza Deoxys Dialga Palkia Giratina Darkrai Shaymin-S Arceus Reshiram Zeckrom
What do you guys think?

In honesty i don't belive we should have a site wide ban list because a brain will just make a banlist, they could just include those if they wish. I don't want to go into detail about it but i find some of the pokemon we ban now not a problem and think they shouldn't be there.
So i think its up to the brain what pokemon to ban, if one brain wants a certain pokemon ban and another doesn't if we wont have a problem with what to ban, its up to the brain.

The main thing I"m worried about is someone saying, "Ok, well I like Kyorge, so I'm going to ban all the other big guys BUT Kyorge, so that I can use him and so no one else can counter me." I think when it comes to the big legends, either they should all be banned, or none of them should. So if you don't want to have Kyorge banned, that's fine, but you need to let your challengers use others to even things out.

Which is why pope suggested that for the big legends only allowed to use one.
PS. Arceus should be a wide ban

What if someone wants to make their theme Ubers though? They wouldn't be able to do that if they can only use one big legend.
Maybe a rule that says for every big legend you use, your opponent can use the same amount?

I like that better than a site wide ban. Personally I would love to use a couple ubers on my team if i were a brain.

Ok, so if you're a brain who is using ubers, you MUST list how many you're using so that your opponent has the chance to match. You can of course just disallow them completely if you don't want to deal with them, but you have to give the challenger to opportunity to use as many as you are.
How does that sound to everybody?
p.s. If you guys want to ban Arceus, that's fine with me.

Ok, updated info:

2) Brains will be able to make their own topic which includes their arena name and reward name. Arena names must have the word 'battle' in the title at the beginning, and the reward will have to use whichever type we ultimately decide to give (trophy, plaque, symbol, etc).
3) League size will be based on the number of players it can support. We'll start smaller, and grow as the site grows. Current leaders will have preference on brain positions.

5) Brains may choose to use any legends they want, however, if they any of the 'big' legends, they must inform challengers and allow them to use the same number as they are using.

Sounds like we'll be needing a 'big legend' list, so I'll give the basics: Mewtwo Ho-Oh Lugia Kyogre Groudon Rayquaza Dialga Palkia Giratina (Both forms?) Darkrai Arceus Reshiram? Zekrom? Kyurem (?)
Deoxys? I put this seperate beacuse this is probably up to debate. We can split by form too. Shaymin (sky maybe?)
Or should we make a new topic for this?
